TVB actress, Vicky Chan (陳偉琪), became known by audiences after portraying the hated “Jenny” on the hit sitcom, “Come Home Love: Lo and Behold” (愛．回家之開心速遞). Vicky Chan and her co-star, Hoffman Cheng (鄭世豪), who plays her on-screen husband, “Max”, became a popular on-screen couple due to their quirky antics. However, the recent storyline of “Jenny” has her escaping to the US after she betrayed the “Lung” family to help her father, setting up her temporary departure from the series.
There were rumors Vicky Chan’s character was being written off due to the negativity surrounding her image, starting with her DUI arrest from last October. Back in January, she was allegedly seen with a foreign man and engaging in intimate behavior behind her boyfriend’s back. Vicky Chan denied any wrongdoing as it turns out she had already broken up with her boyfriend at the time. She was also spotted taking off her mask to drink and smoke. All these incidents are said to have contributed to “Jenny” being written off from “Lo and Behold”.
Vicky Chan spoke with hk01.com about the rumors. She admitted she hasn’t had work at TVB for a few months already. She expressed that it’s due to her character and the storyline, which is why she hasn’t appeared in the series lately. On when “Jenny” will make her return and whether TVB has arranged other work for her, she responded, “I don’t know. Everything is up to the company to arrange.” When asked if she had any schedules on hand to film “Lo and Behold”, Vicky Chan responded, “Currently no.” As for her recent situation, she expressed that she has lately been blogging about fashion and beauty, filming and selling beauty products. She also has some new developments that she will reveal to everyone soon.
Hoffman Cheng spoke with Oriental Daily News about the rumors and responded, “No way! Romantically, she doesn’t have the courage to see me. She’s only leaving temporarily. She shouldn’t be leaving the show.” A producer of the series said her temporary departure is only due to the needs of the storyline. He expressed, “No, it’s because she feels sorry to Max. So she feels a bit guilty. After she reflects on herself, she should be coming back to look for him.”
