After Vicky Chan’s (陳偉琪) DUI scandal on October 26th, many netizens were worried about the fate of her character, “Jenny”, on “Come Home Love – Lo and Behold” (愛．回家之開心速遞). It seems she might have gotten a hail mary, as she showed up to work at the TVB studios today to continue filming for “Lo and Behold”.
She spoke to the media and expressed the following:
“These past two days, I was at home reflecting on myself. I made a very stupid decision and affected the company. I also disappointed the people who have been supporting me. I have to especially thank Tsang Jeh (Catherine Tsang, 曾勵珍) and the producers. They gave me a lot of support. I know I also affected, Hoffman Cheng (鄭世豪), Mandy Lam (林淑敏). They received a lot of calls. I also have to thank the media for reporting positively.”
Vicky Chan was in tears while she spoke to the media. When asked about the events that night, she explained, “I made a stupid decision. I won’t commit the same crime again. Because it has already entered the judicial process, I can’t reveal anything. Drinking and driving is wrong no matter what. But I must apologize to everyone once again!” On whether she was afraid of being frozen, Vicky Chan revealed, “Fortunately, I explained it to Tsang Jeh before. She forgave me. I will work hard. (Continue working?) “There is no impact. I will continue filming “Come Home Love”. (Cried a lot?) “Yes, cried until my eyes were swollen, but as an actor, I must be invested into my character because “Young Mrs. Lung” is pretty domineering!”
When reporters asked if she was afraid about the drunk driving incident affecting her character’s image, Vicky Chan teared nonstop and said, “This mistake has affected a lot of people. I will deeply reflect. Actually, my intention was to drive my family. Now my family has to drive me in return.”(Will you quit drinking?) “Yes!” (Won’t drive anymore?) “Well, no, but from now on, I definitely won’t drive after drinking!”
