For a second year in a row, the 53rd TVB Anniversary Awards show for 2020 (萬千星輝頒獎典禮 2020) was held in the following year. The show was broadcasted live on January 10, 2021 through TVB’s official Youtube channel. It was hosted by Carol Cheng (鄭裕玲), Luk Ho Ming (陸浩明), and Crystal Fung (馮盈盈). Liza Wang also made an opening speech about the sacrifices TVB employees made while other industries closed during the pandemic. She also asked TVB to give everyone a tiny raise.

Vincent Wong won “Best Actor” for his role in “Legal Mavericks 2020”. This is his second win after his 2017 win for “Legal Mavericks”. In a rare move, Vincent Wong publicly thanked his wife, Yoyo Chen, for taking care of their daughter. Sisley Choi beat out Katy Kung, another hot favorite whose series “Hong Kong Love Story” became a late sleeper hit, to get her first “Best Actress” award.
