Joey Chua also addressed these doubts in her post. She said, “Everyone would say don’t waste your energy. Such a woman who has been divorced and has children can’t be an idol. Firstly, I don’t have children. Secondly, in this world, as long as you are willing to do it, there is nothing that’s impossible. Who set these definitions? In the end, it’s not people who set them. Then why can’t I have a break through? Why can’t I? My courage will help me break down all the impossibilities. Thirdly, the definition of an idol to me is to bring positive energy to fans during their youth, lead them in the right direction.”

We are our own heroes, female warriors, queens…we can protect ourselves and fight for ourselves, work hard to achieve our dreams. Courage is our direction. As long as there is courage, don’t even think about blocking me from shining, don’t care about public opinion, don’t care about being hurt…”.
i don’t understand why chinese netizens are always so antagonistic. joey is very hardworking and definitely doesn’t deserve any of the hate that she gets. they addressed this (rumors of her having been married before and divorced now) to an extent on YWY2, why keep digging up her past? if it’s true, i’m sure she isn’t happy to be continuously reminded. sigh why can’t people just appreciate her and support her new song?
