Chinese web drama, “Well-Intended Love” (奈何BOSS要娶我), is this year’s dark horse drama. It’s a small production value web drama, but the storyline and the hunky male lead, Xu Kaicheng (徐开骋), proved to be a winning formula. In addition, the widely popular “cherry kiss” scene is iconic and has left a memorable impression on the fans. While Xu Kaicheng’s character in the series is overbearing, he is actually quite the opposite in real life.

Xu Kaicheng, who is 29 years old this year, stands at 187 cm (~6’1″) and has a face resembling Taiwanese hunky actor, Wallace Huo (霍建華). He plays a CEO in the series opposite a D-listed actress, played by female lead, Wang Shuang (王双). The two enter in a contract marriage and eventually fall in love. While the storyline is nothing new, many fans have fallen for the couple and the series.
Xu Kaicheng Reflects on Filming Intimate Scenes in “Well-Intended Love”
In an interview with ETtoday.net, Xu Kaicheng revealed, “When I first saw the script, I asked the director how to act out this role because it was just depicted through words. It was hard for me to envision a lot of the scenes. However, the director reassured me that after we start filming, it will come naturally to me.” Even though this is the first time the two leads are working together, they have good rapport. When they are breaking for a meal, they would eat together to develop their feelings for the sake of the series.

Aside from his good looks, Xu Kaicheng is also a fitness junkie. He shows off his muscular body in the series and is often posting pictures of his body on Weibo and Instagram. He reveals, “When I was acting the scene out, I had no reservations. I just let it all out to film the scene. Before we film, I would communicate with the director and Wang Shuang about the right angles, respecting each other. At the film set, I have an actor’s mission and a responsibility towards everyone. I don’t want to waste the crew members’ time and hope to get off work on schedule.”

As for his thoughts on the “cherry kiss,” he revealed, “Aiya, I get so shy watching the scene now. I know netizens have edited a lot of the scenes into videos. I don’t dare watch it or dare to click into the video.” Xu Kaicheng also says he is 50% similar to CEO Ling, especially when it comes to love. He says he wants to find someone that will be faithful to him.

When he found out about the popularity of the series in Taiwan, he left a message for the Taiwanese fans, saying, “Thank you all. CEO Ling has already received your love. But when it comes to love, it’s best to leave it up to the man to say it. Ha Ha Ha! I also like you guys a lot. Thank you everyone for liking me. If there is an opportunity, I will come to see you guys.”

That’s great news! I’ll be looking forward to Season 2. Perfect chemistry, and can’t help but fall in love with the characters. I watched the whole season over and over again, and still laugh and cry on some of the scenes. Just couldn’t get enough!

The first draft of the script was recently finished and was being reviewed with the director.
That kissing scene was sweet & daring! He really went for it 🍒 lol let’s hope he keeps working out so we’ll get to see his abs in season 2
