TVB’s big budget series, “Big White Duel” (白色強人), is set to air on June 10th. The series is about a bunch of doctors and their agendas at a hospital. It stars Roger Kwok (郭晉安), Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Ali Lee (李佳芯), and Natalie Tong (唐詩詠). Roger Kwok portrays the assistant director of the hospital who is trying to push his agenda on health care reform and tries to oust the director of the hospital, David Chiang (姜大偉). His character can be thought as of evil and good at the same time. From the trailer, the production value looks high and a lot of research was done to make it as realistic as possible.

Roger Kwok and Kenneth Ma become friends and enemies at the same time. Kenneth Ma on his character: “The character doesn’t chase after money, fame, or power. He is truly benevolent.” In the trailer, Kenneth Ma is seen yelling passionately at someone over the lack of affordable healthcare for poor citizens. He has a love triangle with Natalie Tong and Ali Lee. On this dynamic, he says, “I haven’t collaborated with Natalie Tong in a long time. Both of us grew up. This time she plays a very tough ER doctor.” As for Ali Lee, she and Kenneth Ma compete against each other to get promoted, but develop feelings along the way. However, Ali Lee and Natalie Tong are good friends, so it gets complicated.
