After much speculation, Shen Yue (沈月) and Jasper Liu (劉以豪) were announced as the leads in new rom-com drama, “Use For My Talent”, on May 30. The previous name was titled “My Dear Neat Freak” (我亲爱的小洁癖), which would’ve been a better suited title given the Chinese name of the series.

Despite this being their first time working together, Shen Yue and Jasper Liu were full of fan service at the blessing ceremony. Shen Yue also keeps getting paired up with older men. In her previous series, “Count Your Lucky Stars, she was paired up with Jerry Yan, who is 22 years older than Shen Yue. Many people were initially averse to the pairing due to the big age gap. However, as the trailers and BTS clips were released, people were starting to accept the pairing. Jasper Liu 11 is years older than Shen Yue, but it’s not apparent looking at the pictures.

The storyline revolves around “Gu Renqi”, played by Jasper Liu, who lives a very isolated and closed off lifestyle and has serious mysophobia due to his unstable family upbringing. Shen Yue plays “Shi Shuangqiao”, who had a happy family, but sadly loses her mother in a car accident. Due to the loss of her mother, she has stopped caring about her appearance. The two meet each other when they work in the same cleaning company with a boss/employee relationship.

They’re often at odds, but their relationship is elevated after getting to know each other more through work. Under the influence of “Gu Renqi”, “Shi Shuangqiao” overcomes the sadness of losing her mother and faces herself again. However, the plot twist breaks them apart when “Shi Shuangqiao” finds out her mother’s death was not an accident and that “Gu Renqi’s” maternal grandfather might actually be the culprit. The two break up over “Gu Renqi’s” guilt. After the police investigation, it’s discovered the perpetrator was actually the Gu family’s driver. He was the one that framed “Gu Renqi’s” maternal grandfather. Naturally, “Gu Renqi” and “Shi Shuangqiao” get back together after the truth is uncovered.
